What Are Dental Veneers?

Dental veneers cover the front of your teeth, leaving most of your natural tooth structure as support. They are thin and very durable porcelain shell-like coverings that match your desired tooth shade and shape. We can place them quickly, and the treatment only requires a little prep work.

How Much Do Veneers Cost?

Veneers might be more expensive than some cosmetic dental solutions, but they are also a higher-quality solution. Your cosmetic dentistry solution is an investment in your smile, and you should consider the many considerable benefits that come with them when making your decision on which treatment to choose. The cost can vary depending on the treatment you need, so we recommend scheduling a consultation with our team for cost estimates.

What Are the Benefits of Dental Veneers?

The most obvious benefits will be to your smile. Others report an increase in personal confidence, engagement in conversation, and a calm, quiet comfort, knowing that their teeth are what they want them to be. Oftentimes, showing off your brand-new, white teeth at every opportunity. We precisely customize your veneers to look and feel precisely like they should within your beautiful smile.

In addition to aesthetic benefits, veneers offer functional and health benefits. They can correct flaws such as gaps, uneven teeth, and chips and replace old worn fillings. Those flaws can cause bacteria and plaque buildup, bad breath, and make it more challenging to keep your teeth clean and healthy. With straight, white teeth, the ability to brush and floss will help you stay on top of your dental health. Flossing teeth with dental veneers is just as easy as natural teeth, tooth by tooth. This is reported as a major benefit to traditional bridges or dentures.

Imperfect teeth can also make it difficult to chew your food or prevent gum disease. The fact that veneers use more of your natural tooth structure for support is an excellent benefit, too. We recommend ‘banking’ as much of your natural teeth as possible rather than more invasive treatments, including tooth extraction.

What is the Dental Veneers Process?

Dr. Sorge will evaluate your teeth during your initial consultation. He and his team will gather your information, perform a thorough dental exam, and take photos and X-rays if necessary. This helps us to confirm that dental veneers are the best option for you or if we should recommend an alternative dental treatment.

If you agree that dental veneers are best for your needs, we’ll start by prepping your teeth. We may remove a small amount of tooth enamel so that a veneer can fit correctly over each tooth.

When we’ve finished the tooth prepping, we’ll take some impressions. These impressions will help us craft your custom veneers into sizes and shapes that will look and feel great within your smile.

We place temporary veneers over your teeth while the dental lab fabricates your custom final veneers. Once your final veneers are ready, you’ll return to our office for final cementation. Dr. Sorge will help you ensure they look and feel how you expect them to.
